JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Responsible for management of treasury, distributor & NPI finance in MENAP area

  • Manage the MENAP Treasury team ensuring their professional development and successful completion of day to day requirements.
  • Manage and enhance distributor claims processes in MENAP to ensure timely and effective distributor claims processing for all MENAP countries.
  • Support country Finance Controllers and Area Finance Controller to improve the forecast of claims processing and overall cash flow and Accounts Receivable forecasting.
  • Ensure sufficient credit availability and/or lines of credit are set up for all MENAP distributors to allow MENAP countries to achieve Plan and LBE to-market sales growth.
  • Provide support to affiliates on the assessment of financial capabilities of new distributors and submissions of proposals to Are Distributor Governance Board.
  • Provide support to Area Finance Controller on measurement and implementation of Area and affiliate Cost Leadership initiatives.
  • Provide financial support to Area Marketing on new product launches, PIER financial assessments, and Innovation Database management.
  • Provide support to Area Finance Controller on Gross-To-Net reporting and the affiliate reporting harmonization project.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direction, guidance, leadership and development to the MENAP treasury function team which currently consists of 4 Treasury Analysts (2 FTE and 2 contractors). 
  • Ensure that the Treasury Analysts capabilities are maximized, and proper resources and tools are in place to ensure successful completion of their core job responsibilities.
  • Own the distributor claims processing process for all MENAP countries, ensuring efficient and effective processes are in place to process claims properly in accordance to established timelines.
  • Assist country Finance Controllers with the forecasting of distributor claims paid and Accounts Receivable balances.  
  • Establish processes to ensure forecast are accurate in accordance with established KPIs. Establish procedures to regularly review credit limits and lines of credit of all MENAP distributors.
  • Ensure proper credit and/or lines of credit are established with each distributor to ensure sales growth can be achieved.
  • Provide support to affiliates with the financial assessment of new distributors including “should cost” analysis, cash flow health, and credit worthiness.
  • Manage the MENAP Cost Leadership database, ensuring completeness, accuracy and reconciliation to prior benchmarks. 
  • Work with Area and affiliate Cost Leadership project teams to measure impact of projects.  Update Cost Leadership database monthly based on new initiatives, status changes, impact assessment changes, and explanation for changes.
  • Work with Area Marketing team on measuring the financial impact of new product launches.
  • Assess viability of financial impact of new product launches to total MENAP, and understand and explain root cause for changes in forecast assumptions. Maintain the MENAP innovation database.  Work with Area Marketing and Area Director of Supply Chain & Logistics to ensure the database reflects the latest NPI updates, launch assumptions, and financial assumptions.
  • Review all PIER submissions for financial accuracy.  Ensure PIER submissions reflect the latest launch and financial assumptions.  Explain variances in PIER submission versus previous submissions.
  • Assess impact of PIER financials to overall MENAP financial performance, and make recommendations for improved financial performance.
  • Ensure consistency across affiliates in Gross-To-Net (GTN) reporting definitions and methodologies.
  • Understand and analysis changes in GTN reporting for total MENAP and by country.
  • Monitor and assess GTN promotion budgets and variances vs. various benchmarks including prior year and prior LBE.
  • Work with Area Controller to identify and implement efficiencies and savings in GTN budgets. W
  • ork with Area and affiliate leaders on ad hoc projects related to Trade Finance, NPI Finance, Cost Leadership Finance, or Treasury as applicable.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Ability to manage and develop small teams
  • Understanding of distributor operations and nature of claims process best practices
  • Ability to assess financial health of a business, cash flow health, and profitability
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to identify recommendations to maximize profitability of new product launches.
  • Analytical skills to identify root cause and corrective actions
  • Good experience managing large amounts of data and performing analysis in Microsoft Excel.
  • Project Management capabilities, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance or Treasury.
  • Healthcare, Pharma or FMCG preferably with background working with multinational companies.
  • Track record of successfully managing a team.
  • Experience in project management or process improvement.

KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor degree (Accounting, Finance, Economics)
  • MBA / CMA / CFA / CPA and similar post graduate education is a plus
  • Arabic language capability is a plus.
